Squidoo: Pagan Sabbats: Litha
Litha, another way of saying the Summer Solstice, comes on the longest day of the year and is at the opposite side of the year from Yule, the Winter Solstice.
This Solar Festival marks the day when the Sun God is at the height of power. It is a time of merriment and magic as noted in Shakespeare's "A Midsummer Night's Dream".
The Goddess is now pregnant with the God and it is the time of the quickening.

Lughnasadh marks the time of the first harvest in the calendar year. The corn is ripening in the fields and must be harvested. In the past all grains in Britain were called corn.
The God, at the height of his power at Litha, is now weakening, and with the cutting of the corn suffers his first death.

A BOS (Book of Shadows) can be handwritten by the light of the Full Moon in the ancient script of the Elven-kind, if you're so inclined. ...

A question I am asked and that I see asked frequently by those newly entering a Pagan belief system is "How do I find my Patron God?"
They spend a lot of time and energy focusing on how they can determine who their God is supposed to be. Energy that could be better spent on other things as they learn about Paganism and find their place within it.
Here I will give you what you need to know and do to find your own Patron God or Matron Goddess.

I do love a good joke. Especially when it pokes fun at sacred cows. Like religion. I believe that you have to be able to laugh at yourself. Because, dang it, somebody else will be so you might as well yourself.
So, in that line, I have been saving Pagan jokes culled from the internet for some years. It's time to share a few of them in here.
Pull up a chair. Grab a drink. And enjoy a laugh or three.
